11. Supermarine Spitfire
Great Britain - 1936
A fighter that needs no introduction, the Supermarine Spitfire achieved immortality during the Battle of Britain - without it the RAF might have been swept from the skies, leaving Britain wide open to invasion. Since the war it has become a beloved symbol of a Britain's resolve to stand up to an enemy that was determined to conquer the island nation and change its way of life forever. Many pilots formed the basis for Churchill’s famous quote, “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few”, and one of those was Squadron Leader Brian Lane, a young man who answered the bell repeatedly during that trying time.
Eduard #82151, 1/48 Spitfire Mk. Ia
